FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • DO I HAVE TO BRING MY DOG TO A MEET AND GREET?
We will not accept any dog unless they have experienced a 'meet & greet'. A Meet & Greet (Or M&G) benefits the dog, the owner and ourselves. You will get the opportunity to view our extensive facilities, and your dog will be able to have a good exploration - and of course, get to meet the Glyntawel team! This will therefore eliminate any stress when your dog arrives for its first day care or holiday. Vaccination cards must be brought to the M&G or the dog will not be able to come in. This means rearranging the M&G - which could hinder your booking, so bear this in mind.
  • WHEN ARE THE MEET AND GREETS?
You can book a M&G for a Tuesday - Friday at 11am; Saturdays are possible if you have work commitments.
  • WHY DO YOU ONLY HAVE ONE M&G A DAY?
The reason for only having one meet and greet a day is simple: we have a unique 'Outdoor Policy' - and at Glyntawel, we pride ourselves on the freedom and socialisation our VIDs are at liberty to enjoy every day. During our daily meet and greets, we give our current guests rest time in their bays. The more time we spend doing meet and greets, the less time they have spending time playing all together; which is why we only have one a day.
  • VACCINATIONS - WHAT DO YOU NEED?
UP TO DATE VETERINARY CERTIFICATE of Vaccination will be required for Inspection at the time of any admission to Glyntawel. These must have been carried out at least 14 days prior to boarding. I will not be able to take dogs that have just been vaccinated. Any queries - Vaccination Cards have to be brought with the dog/s on every Meet & Greet, day care and boarding holiday. Photocopies or photos will not be accepted. Kennel Cough is not required at Glyntawel due to our unique outdoor policy. If you do vaccinate against Kennel Cough please note that your dog can not come to us until at least 30 days after the date the vaccination was given. • WHEN CAN I DROP OFF / PICK UP MY DOG?
I recommend that new dogs are dropped off 9-10 am on first visit as this gives them the whole day to settle. Dogs dropped of at 9-10am will incur additional charge if picked up later on departure day. Opening times for drop off and pick up Monday 8-9 or 9-10 am and 4-5pm Tuesday 8-9 or 9-10am and 4-5pm Wednesday 8-9 or 9-10am and 4-5pm Thursday 8-9 or 9-10am and 4-5pm Friday 8-9 or 9-10 am and 4-5pm Saturday 9-10 am only Sunday 9-10 am only
  • I HAVE MULTIPLE DOGS - CAN THEY BOARD TOGETHER?
Absolutely! Accommodations are available for dogs from the same family to room together. We will supervise the dogs at feeding times so we know they have eaten their own meals.
  • WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR CHECK IN?
Please ensure that you have current vaccination records prior to arrival. The more detail you are able to give us, the more enjoyable the stay will be for your dog. Special diets, medications, or other requests should be communicated to us, and a scheduled check-out time should also be discussed. Most importantly, do not hesitate to call us if you have any questions about the check-in process or our facilities.
  • WHAT CAN MY DOG BRING?
Food is not inclusive of our boarding price; this is because we want to keep your dogs' feeding routine as close to their regular day-to-day diet as possible, so please bring the diet they are used to. This reduces stress in your furry friend during them settling into their stay with us. You're more than welcome to bring the bedding and blankets they are used to at home - along with something of yours that smells of you, such as a t-shirt. This allows them to settle calmly and have some home comforts. You can also bring dog toys and treats - within reason, of course - however, we do not reward through this method. We only use positive reinforcement (IE lots of love!) to reward your furry friends; treats and toys are given when they are relaxed and alone in their bays. OH - AND DON'T FORGET THE DOG!
  • WHAT DO YOU CHARGE?
